The Flame Curve

The first wall piece in the Wildfires' collection, Flame Curve brings lightning-struck timber off the floor and onto the wall. A single sweep of mountain wood — cream-pale grain on one edge, deep glassy char on the other — curls around an exposed Edison bulb like a flame bending in the wind.

The wood does what a shade never could: it frames the light instead of hiding it. The bulb's warm filament reflects off the lacquered char, tracing every ridge and fissure the fire left behind, while the pale grain catches the glow and softens it into the room. Mounted on a matte-black steel plate, the piece reads as living sculpture by day and intimate lighting by night.

Flame Curve is scaled for the places a floor piece can't go — beside a bed, flanking a fireplace, along a hallway, above a console. Hang one as a statement or a pair as a conversation. Each is cut from a different strike, so no two will ever match — and that's the point.
