Every fire ends the same way — one last ember holding its glow long after the flames are gone. This piece captures that exact moment in timber. A weathered mountain trunk, polished to a warm honey tone, splits open into blackened tongues of charred wood that reach upward like a flame frozen mid-flicker.
From within the split, a warm internal light glows through the opening in the grain — the ember itself, burning quietly at the heart of the piece. The effect at night is startling: the charred crown fades into the dark and the wood appears lit from inside, the way a dying fire breathes in a fire pit long after midnight.
The Last Ember stands on a custom round steel base and works as both floor lamp and freestanding sculpture — equally at home beside a stone fireplace, in a mountain great room, or anchoring a quiet corner that deserves something with a story. One tree, one strike, one piece. It will never be made again.
